My eagle

Ozzie posted his brilliant pics of his eagle captures. Taken him seven long years - well I will get a good one eventually.

Here is one I managed to 'grab' as it flew along a road I was driving along in western NSW in January.

These two taken in Canberra a couple of years ago as we get them around from time to time.

Frustrating - they are often too far away - or you have the wrong lens on.

Re: My eagle

All good, Terry. I'm surprised that you were able to get out of your car and get those overhead shots fast enough.

But your last shot is a ripper!

Re: My eagle

Great photos Terry.
Terry its the story of my life, we have two nesting pairs, near by and on windy days they have a flight path up the valley, but the buggers seem to know when you get the cameras out. When you here "get out the way" Nick opens the sliding door. Part of the reason I want/need a 500mm lens.
Should post some of mine. We also have sea eagles and harriers. Don't know if you are aware the females are the bigger.

Re: My eagle

no 3 is a great shot particularly the old twisted tree. Perhaps with a little bit of work you could bring some detail back into the chest area of the bird.

A very good shot all the same.

Re: My eagle

Not the easiest to catch, even on a good day. Given you have the same problem, these are 'all good'. I only see them - Red Kites - in the far distance. Thank goodness for binoculars as I can't see too well through a camera viewfinder.

As commented, it's nice to know an 'old fart' still has a good burst of speed when needed.

Re: My eagle

I really like no.3 Terry, maybe it's the format but I think it would look great on a special edition stamp
