Hoar Frost Hartsholme

As I mentioned in the post by Fearless Leader I have been taking pictures around Hartsholme Park in Lincoln during this week.

The hoar frost was particularly good both Wednesday afternoon (when I did not take my whilst camera dog walking) and yesterday (when I went out specially to take pictures).

I did notice that the frost was different on both days - on Wednesday the hoar frost was fairly clear looking and spiky, like whiskers of ice. Yeaterday it looked like the hoar 'ice' had got frost on it, because it had gone 'bumpy'.

Anyway, I managed to get some pictures, mostly with my Sigma 55-200mm set to 200mm, hand held, and quite close - usuall from 4 to 5 feet away from the subject.

Comments welcome. I would like to know why some of my pictures seem to have an 'orange peel' look in areas of one colour. Perhaps the imps in my camera cannot spray paint very well.

Re: Hoar Frost Hartsholme

Interesting how the hoar frost forms at the points of the holly leaves. Anyone got a reason for this ?

Also, why are the holly leaves 'spotty' - is it my lens or have they got goose bumps ?

Holly the best of the four.
Hartsholme country Park I know it well. As a small boy I like on the farm behind City school. I've spent many a day fishing in the Hartsholme Lake.

While not technically perfect they are a nice set.

I like the last one the most.
