Screen Protector

Does anyone use LCD screen protectors?

I prefer to have something on the LCD screen to keep it from getting scratched (having had several cellphones develop a revolting pattern of scratches despite careful handling). I've been using some by Hama I picked up in my local camera dealer. To be honest, they aren't very good - actually make the screen more difficult to see in some lighting conditions.

I've just bought my wife an E410 for her birthday and she can't see the screen at all with one fitted.

So I'm looking for alternatives. Are there any better versions out there? I'm not keen on the flip-up hood things - too much like my father's old Practika waist level finder...

Re: Screen Protector

I have used the Jessops ones on my P&S, and they don't affect the display over much, but I've never found the need to use one on a DSLR, and I've not yet had any scratches despite using DSLRs since 2002. Maybe they are made of a better material than phone/P&S screens?

Re: Screen Protector

Hi, Personally I use Belkin ones designed for PDAs Buy the ones for the largest size screens and cut them down to suit.
Works fine for me.
