More macro

After being inspired to take more insects by Nicks post yesterday I went to my local nature reserve this morning.
Wet feet and knees after yesterdays rain but worth it I think.

Re: More macro

Cracking shots Andy - they're lovely!!

What set up did you use for these? (lens etc.). Looks like you used flash to light them beautifully - can I ask what you used?

Ooops - why didn't I think of looking there first before asking dumb questions - d'ohhh!!

Seriously though - great shots (as I've said previously). You use exactly the same set up as me. I've also got the luxury of a ring flash kit if I need it (the Olympus one, where I can control the amount of flash, which is handy). I think the main difference here is processing. I shoot in RAW as well (wouldn't do it any other way these days), but then run them through Lightroom and/or Photoshop. I only tend to do minor tweaking - otherwise I never know when to stop and end up over-processing mine (although shooting in RAW I'm in no danger of losing the original!). However, they never look as good as these do.

I think I need post-processing lessons....

Oh dear

Andy has set the bar on standards a bit high, I shall have to 'raise my game' before I can compete at this level (OK - it's not a competition).

Particularly like the 2'nd and 4'th images, great set

Nick
