Focus stacking for Mac

I just seen some cracking pics in AP, macros of bugs, not my subject but I was impressed with the technique, I would use it for flower shots.

Question is, is there any focus stacking software that can be used on a Mac? Preferably free or shareware.

Re: Focus stacking for Mac

I am not aware of any free- of shareware apps, but I do know CS4 is offering it. However for me not enough a reason to make a dent in my wallet...

I'll keep a lookout for you.

Re: Focus stacking for Mac

I did a fast search on the Internet and it came up with:

Helicon Focus
PhotoAcute
and an astronomy program which should do the same:
Keith's Image Stacker

You can try them all out to see what fits your needs the best.

Looking forward to see some stunning results...

Re: Focus stacking for Mac

Do you have any layer based SW if so you could possibly use a combination of layers and layer masks to allow relevant parts of each image to be visible and so give you the appearance of a large depth of field.
