City break photo problem!

Just been away for a few days - photos to follow! - and have a couple of images that don't appear in Lightroom from the camera, both being in camera processed .JPEGs, the original .ORF files have imported but not the same file with the alternative extension.

I've unchecked the "don't import suspected duplicates" box - the JPEG is nowhere to be seen. I can see it from finder (I'm using a Mac) but not within Lightroom.

How do I import them, as I rather like them!?

Re: City break photo problem!

On my third trawl through all the settings - there's a box hidden in the preferences section "treat JPEGS next to RAW files as separate photos" tick that and I'm away!

Many thanks all - you can stop panicking now!

Re: City break photo problem!

If you are not going to be in a rush to see the pictures why do you store Jpegs as well as Raw pictures. Raw pictures can be seen quite quickly and the basic operating system can display Raw images without having to use LR or PS.

My reason for doing that is to have a baseline to compare against if I do any processing in other software. it's useful to be able to compare to the OOC jpeg.

Andy
