Changing folder names in LR5

I'm still new to LR, hopefully this isn't a daft question.

As you may know it's possible to rename an image in LR and the image is also renamed in Mac Finder. Can i do the same with the folders, i.e. rename a folder so the folder title is altered in Mac Finder also? If i rename a folder in the Finder first then LR seems to lose everything and i have to re-import.

Also, if i Delete Selected Folder, what happens to the images i altered but didn't export, are they lost forever?

Re: Changing folder names in LR5

1-Not sure about Mac but using LR on Windows you can rename the folder.

2-As for re importing them after renaming in finder..why. Just right click on the missing folder in LR and select "Update Folder Location" then navigate to the renamed folder.

3-If you right click on the folder and select remove it just removes the folder and images from the catalog and does not delete them. If you hit the delete button on the keyboard you get the option to remove or delete at least on Windows, if you select delete then the folder and the images are deleted permanantly.

Aha right click . I'm a typical mac user that's useless with right clicking. But there it all is . I am now a skilled right clicker .
