Tablet help

I'm interested in people's experience of any of the tablet computers (large or small) in their ability to download photos direct from cameras or memory cards.

Are they capable of this and do they perform? I'm assuming files would need to be jpegs as raw conversion may be a bit too much to ask.

Thanks in advance for any info

Martin

Re: Tablet help

Martin, the Samsung Note comes with a 16Gb card slot - maybe you can upload to "Dropbox" view and delete NGs and save Keepers in Dropbox - I nearly bought one because of this function, but decided I would rarely if ever, use it

Re: Tablet help

My son convinced me to get one, an android 7 ". Its quite amazing what it will do etc. I am quite suprised at the picture quality and the sound, I actually put i player on as well as google earth but it takes some getting used to. Have a look at Amazon for prices etc. If I were to get another it would be a 9" You can get e-mails and and the net but its a bit small for my 78year old fingers. I get lessons on it from him in Wetherspoons on their free internet?????????

Re: Tablet help

I bought a Samsung Galaxy Tab 7" in Melbourne airport as they were so cheap. With a cheap adaptor I can download photos from the memory card and onto the slotted 32Mb Micro-SD card. From there I can upload onto a flash drive to form a backup. Unfortunately they do not support external USB hard disks.

For this purpose it's much more versatile than my iPad.

Re: Tablet help

Hi I use an Megapad 8 10.2" tablet on android 4.0.4 I use it to off load my images from camera even raw send them straight to dropbox to down load later computer at home I can even view my E30 raw on it in full HD, I can plug in an external Hardrive a 2TB works very well to, as it has 2 full sized USB 32gb internal flashdrive and an 32gb external micro sd card, working on being able to use a external harddrive the requires no power supply as they require 6v frome the usb which is to high, if I can find out which connections on the usb cable carries the voltage I could you a battery to supply the power for the portable harddrive to run.

Re: Tablet help

Dixons at the airports are doing a Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7" 8GB for 137 and you get 30 cashback from Samsung plus an 8GB SD card. So it's effectively 107.

Re: Tablet help

That's a good price, and you can install a 32Gb micro-SD card for just over a tenner.

I paid about 120 for my 32Gb version of the 7" Galaxy at Melbourne.
