Goldfinch (Carduelis carduelis)

I mentioned the Goldfinch in my earlier thread (The Garden Nursery). I thought I would share these images I took earlier in the year.

These beautiful birds seem to have become far more numerous. their delightful colouring seems more in place in warmer climates. When I first saw these, a few year back, I thought they were escaped cage birds

Best wishes

Peter

Nice crisp shots, good effort getting the focus on the second one.

The second did present a focussing issue. I tackled this by slightly overlapping the sky with the Goldfinch's head. attempt to focus then moved in slightly and locked focus. This worked well, getting the camera to ignore the foreground clutter.

Best wishes

Look to be in their peak plumage, well caught.
