Card Reader

Ian,

I've just been reading your excellent write up on storage cards (on the Wex Photographic site).....rather than attaching the usb cable from camera to laptop, would it be better to have a card reader? and also what do you recommend....my laptop has USB3.o ports.

Cheers

Peter

Re: Card Reader

I used Ian's recommendation from a while back and got a Kingston MobileLite G3, which is USB3 and only takes SD cards, so it's nice and compact. Plugs directly into a USB port rather than having a cable.

Re: Card Reader

I prefer to use a card reader and have a Mobilite G3 as well, it seems to work well so far but is a bit bulky and may not fit if a neighbouring USB port is in use. Easily solved with an extension cable though.

Re: Card Reader

I'm using a U-Speed USB3 SD/SDXC card reader. Looks similar to the MobiLite G3. As well as being USB 3.0 to the computer it is Class 10 + U1 to the card. It has 2 slots, one for SD size card and 1 for SD Micro sized cards.
