Tortoiseshell on Plumbago

A Small Tortoiseshell nectaring on Hardy Plumbago flowers in my garden. One of my favourite butterflies on one of my favourite plants.

E-30 (back from the dead), 50-200 SWD, EC-14.

Nice shots, especially the first.

Re: Tortoiseshell on Plumbago

Thanks for the comments. We have the first rain for ages this morning and there was no sign of any butterflies on the flowers before I came to work. It has been a truly extraordinary few weeks for butterflies recently.
