Postcards from Hastings

Some of the galleries in Hastings have shots of the pier. The management decided that I could take equally good shots so I had a go. The first one I took was the best (and took the longest to find the right "look") but I took another 20 or so just to be sure.

Hastings Pier.

Two pretty girls were blowing bubbles on the beach. There was only a slight breeze but it was enough to quickly disperse the bubbles making it a tricky thing to capture

Bubbles On The Beach

I just like this shot so I have included it. Let me know your thoughts.

Outcrop.

We got mobbed by the seagulls who succeeded in taking one of our ice creams. I got my own back by switching the camera to high speed single AF, centering the b******* in the view finder, and pressing the trigger (sorry, shutter), and listing to that rat-at-tat sound as I mowed thenm down. This one was a more measured shot.

Seagull.

I love the colours and comp of your under the pier shot, OM, I well remember walking to the end of it, albeit so long ago.

The first is full of interest, excellent shot. I especially like the plastic stuck on the tie rods, speaks of our time.

Thanks Mark. The pier is looking good after its last refurbishment. Its a nice open space, decent plank floor, and a sprinkling of wooden animal statues. There is still some controversy over the potential usage of such a space though.
