A few shots from the conservatory

We are still in the middle of a period of dark, gloomy and dank weather down here in Dorset so I've been whiling away a few moments drinking coffee and shooting garden birds through the conservatory double glazing. (its not helped as ours is a North facing garden so gets very little light at this time of year)

Anyway the EM-1 mk2 + 40-150 pro helps as does shooting CAF + tracking with low speed mechanical sequential as these little devils potter all round the place

A couple of subjects from the last few days

One of our resident Dunnock on our Camellia at approx. 15ft

and a couple of a Chiffchaff on our back fence at 40ft (a bit more out of the shadow in this location)

Re: A few shots from the conservatory

Very nice Brian given the light and shooting through double glazing. The first is my favourite - a very pleasing shot.

Re: A few shots from the conservatory

thanks Paul, I think that is the best shot photographically but there is something rather endearing about that little Chiffchaff hopping from one end of the trellis to the other as well

Re: A few shots from the conservatory

Looking at the 3rd in the sequence it looks as though the bird is on a ballistic descent, wings retracted and fully stalled.

Re: A few shots from the conservatory

I think it was just being lazy Steve, it had about 6ft to travel, flapped once and thought "that's enough" and coasted the rest of the way

It was a shame I just missed the touch down as it flew in behind the leaves on the left hand side
