A Mousey Moment

I had the chance of a short mini-studio shoot with some Harvest Mice yesterday (a nice break from all my windsurf and kiting work over the last few months)

The mice are bred for release back into the wild at a local nature reserve so whilst slightly habituated to their breeder exhibit the full range of natural behaviour, which in this case was to dash about like lunatics, hide wherever there was a bit of cover then leap out for a quick pose.

the EM-1 mk2 + 40-150 pro proved up to the job and I had a great time getting a few images.

I tried SAF and CAF shooting single frame and somewhat to my surprise, CAF proved by far the best solution to fix focus and grab the shots

Re: A Mousey Moment

thanks both, the speed and responsiveness of this system makes shots like this relatively easy but I must confess to being quite pleased with the results

Re: A Mousey Moment

thanks for the kind comments all, I think this was possibly the most fun shoot this year and I was particularly lucky that my friend was able to set up this session for me as he had already closed down for the Winter break.

They are delightful little creatures but a real challenge to shoot as they move so fast and erratically but the mk2 + 40-150 helped a lot

Re: A Mousey Moment

Far cuter than their cousins, whom I keep trapping in our house! Great pictures Brian.
