My first Digital Camera - Another Kodak

Thanks for my Birthday wishes from the forum today (75!) feeling a little Nostalgic, I have been out shooting with my Folding Brownie, of which more next week.

My sister recently reminded me of a conversation we had in 1998, when (she says) I said, about digital cameras "When I see a digital camera with more than 1 Megapixel for less than 1000, I will buy it.

Thus it happened and in March 1999 I bought a Kodak DSC210.

I must have been in a film mindset as I seem to have shot about 30 images per month. The first half decent one I can find is this of Paddy's Hole.

At that time my job took me overseas a lot and the Kodak came with me to Portland Oregon in September 1999

To Cannes for a conference in November 1999. This helicopter took us from our Hotel to the Cote d'Azur airport

And to Rio de Janeiro in December 1999

I enjoyed the digital process, but hated the image quality and after a year or so I sold it and got an Olympus C2000 and could at last make good quality images

Can't wait to see what you get from the Brownie. You've got me trawling the internet for them now. Just to look and learn I hasten to add. At the moment anyway

ED, Many thanks!

The camera was well made, but technically very primitive, even compared to the C2000 that came a year later. But it was exciting to find out what it could do. For me the Portland picture is the best I did with it. The helicopter was the first action shot.
