E-M1ii announcement - Sept 19?

Launch date now looking like Sept 19th:

Olympus will live stream the E-M1II announcement! - 43 Rumors

Quote:
On September 19, at 18:30 Berlin time Olympus will live stream the E-M1II and MFT lens product announcement!

So far the E-M1II confirmed specs are:

4K video (first Olympus camera with 4K)
Dual SD card slot
Handheld High Resolution mode
Much improved autofocus performance
new high-resolution EVF
Announcement at Photokina in September
It has no global shutter. But Olympus worked hard to reduce rolling shutter to a negligible level

Some more info still to be confirmed:

Source 1:

Same E-M5II articulating display, 48 MP high res mode without tripod. Improved ergonomic. Pictbridge VIII. Overall 20 % better image quality than the E-M1.

Source 2 (Simon):

New sensor, hiRes without tripod !, this is great– so no need for FF Camera), scratchresitance Screen, Videomodus (4K ) and an new mic solution (3d sound).

Source 3:

The sensor is trimmed for maximal AF speed and very fast parallel signal output reading. The sensor reading is twice as fast than ont he current Olympus PEN-F.”
10 days to go! However, in other rumours it looks like it won't ship until well into 2017

I'm just hoping it will be out and starting to drop in price a little by April when there is a family wedding and an excuse for me to finally move into the world of micro4/3

Any news on the price?
Not sure I'll be an early adopter this time though

Re: E-M1ii announcement - Sept 19?

If I had to guess price, I'd say £1099. Similar to the Fuji XT 2 and a little above the Mk I launch price.

I paid £1300 for my Mk I when it was introduced. I can't see the Mk II being less than that.

Yes, I have just checked the invoice. It did include the special offer of the MMF-3 adapter to use my 4/3 lenses and the HLD‑7 grip (which I have never used.)

Just checked an old Amateur Photography review when the E-M1 was launched and indeed its price was £1299. The XT2 is £1399 so I'd guess we're looking probably at £1299 to £1399. That's more than I was hoping. I was thinking of preordering, but at that price I'll probably wait and see. The E-M1 is currently about £700 from reputable suppliers (e.g. SRS) or a little under £600 for grey imports. That's quite a drop from launch.

If the 1800hours (in Cologne) is correct, then that would be 2am the next day doununder (Sydney). I guess I'll read all about it when I wake.

EDIT: Make that a half hour later.

Re: E-M1ii announcement - Sept 19?

As I said, in order to encourage pre-orders for the E-M1, Olympus offered a free 4/3 lens adapter and grip. What would be a suitable 'sweetener' which might lead you to be an early adopter of the Mk II? What would encourage you to part with your hard earned cash?

Re: E-M1ii announcement - Sept 19?

Was going to say a grip, as like batteries they change with new models, we may get a surprise and the existing one may fit another thought is a reduction on a m4/3 lens or 5 year warranty?
