Hello

Just joined after being suggested by a fellow member on AVForums. This looks a very good dedicated Olympus forum. Looking forward to contributing. I've moved from a Sony A580 through a whole range of Sony DSLRs, tried Fuji but ended up with my Olympus OMD E-M10 MkII. Just using a Panny 14-140 and a Olympus 60mm macro as I love macro photography. Could do with a 105mm macro for the OMD.

More later....

There are several versions of course - good to know which we're talking about.

Re: Hello

Interesting comment Ian, I thought there was only one 14-140 Pany lens?
I have it pretty much fixed on my EM1 mk2 and it's great for travelling.
Welcome to the forum topgazza, I'd be interested in your lens comments too.

Re: Hello

Hi Topgazza - welcome- See you have already kicked off a discussion about the Pany 14-140, and someone soon, like me, will ask for peoples views comparing it with the Oly 14-150

Re: Hello

Thanks and thanks for putting the link in. The lens is so easy to use and on the E-M10 produces such great colours and to me is sharp that it's a struggle to take it off the camera

Argueably its the only lens you need for anything but specialised pictures if you want travel light

Welcome to the forum topgazza, I'd be interested in your lens comments too.
The original 14-140 was refreshed a few years ago and Power IS was added. I believe there is a third generation either out now or in the pipeline.

Re: Hello

You are quite right Ian I'd forgotten about the mk1 version. Must have been half asleep when I posted that!
Interesting your comment about a mk3. Wonder what they are going to change. Maybe a proper Leica version with weather sealing at twice the price?
I've actually been wondering recently about swapping mine for an Oly 12-100 but just can't make up my mind if the IQ would be that much better and if I'd miss the reach.
Maybe I'll wait and see what Panasonic do.

Re: Hello

I haven't looked at my notes but I think there are f/4-5.6 and f/3.5-5.6 versions. I'm pretty sure a new version was previewed by Panasonic late last year.

Pardon me for saying this but the 14-140 is not in the same class as the 12-100, but then the latter is a lot more expensive.
