70-300mm lens - MINT.

Zuiko Digital ED 70-300mm F4.0-5.6 lens.

This previously belonged to Ceri (Callawolf on here) who looked after it fastidiously before doing a p/ex for my Sigma a month ago.

Lovely lens, but getting little use with me, so up for sale.

It is MINT, boxed, with both caps and hood.

For sale at: 240 RMSD in the UK.

Bank transfer please.

Have to tell the wife it's unsaleable.... economic crisis etc....

Sell some hangbags/shoes instead? (no, hers, not mine!)

Re: 70-300mm lens - MINT.

Usually bits of kit are cheaper here than eBay. One sold on there last night for 210.

I would like one, but I'm waiting for an attractive price.

Re: 70-300mm lens - MINT.

It was 221 actually with 2nd class post, not Special Delivery as I'm offering.

...and one sold here recently (and quickly) for 240: http://e-group.uk.net/forum/showthread.php?t=15620

I'd rather pay slightly more and buy from someone who's an enthusiast and has a reputation to keep on a camera forum.

Plus, I'm in no rush to sell, as per my last post. Don't you do sarcasm?

Remind me to search out a cheaper sale of whatever you're selling next.

Re: 70-300mm lens - MINT.

Well, I could understand it if I were trying to sell something for double its value, but 19 more, and with special delivery vs. 2nd class doesn't deserve a "tut-tutting".

On my airgun forum members who comment on others' pricing get banned.

Let the market dictate.

Re: 70-300mm lens - MINT.

Can we please calm down a bit!! It's quite common on here for members to comment if they think a selling price is too high - not to have a go at the seller but more to advise them that their expectations may be a bit unrealistic. And maybe to advise potential buyers that the price is a little high. While it may be true that one of these lenses was offered for sale recently at 240 we can't be sure what the final selling price was. I will however say that 240 is extraordinarily high for that lens on this site - they are normally sub 200. I know because I have both sold and bought mint ones for less than that.

And although Ebay prices have nothing whatsoever to do with prices on here, generally items are less expensive on this site.

I checked with David before advertising mine. His DID go here for 240.

Pot, kettle etc..
You seem to have a vendetta against me, yet I don't know you?

That was 150 more than it perhaps should have been and a new member who maybe needed help with valuing his kit?

Now 220 posted RMSD in the UK.

It's mint; boxed; Olympus front & rear caps; Olympus hood.

Re: 70-300mm lens - MINT.

I have notice that some lenses are getting more expensive eg. I got a 40-150mm mk2 for 90 brand new in 2009 and they are now over 200
I did notice a while back there was a lot of 70-300mm for sale so logic dictates that the price will be lower if you want a sale, were as if there are not many around you can get a better price so good luck on your sale I think that it is a reasonable price

I'm torn between selling and not selling as it's a fantastic lens with excellent IQ but just not one that I'd use very often. If nobody wants it now, that's fine, I can wait.

A couple of mint boxed & unboxed ones have sold for 240 posted on ebay in the last 3-4 days so mine's the right price I feel.

For what it's worth, I don't think it's an unfair price

Re: 70-300mm lens - MINT.

Something is only worth what 'the market' is prepared to pay.

Perhaps this forum is such a specialised market that it is never prepared to pay as much as in a non-specialised market like eBay?
