Another hand held moon picture.

Tried the moon tonight with the 50-500 and the EC14,total of 708mm.
This is hand held f10 with is on at 1/100th .Iwas bracing myself against my back door.
Processed using a centering crop and level adjustment resized and a small amount of unsharp mask.

Re: Another hand held moon picture.

That would be a good image even on a tripod, but for hand held is great.

I tried to take some images last night. Too much moisture in the air. The moon had a nice halo around it. I lost too much detail.

That's inspired me to have a go at this. I think I'll try my OM 300mm, that will give me 600mm so should be enough.

Great shot, making me think of investing in a telephoto lens.

Congratulations! That's astonishing for hand held - if that'd been me, it would have been a smeary whitish blur...

708mm handheld at 1/100 sec on Four Thirds? What an advert for IS! And what terrific skill from Andy!

At this rate we'll all be buying Bigmas - do you think he's on commission with Sigma?
