Hello from Northumberland

Hello all

I'm Joe, mid 40s, happily married and based in Ashington. I've just bought an E-520 twin lens kit off a relative who has moved over to the dark side (Canon).

I've become interested in photography in the last year or so, and have taken 2 courses at the local college, which were basic photography, and intermediate photography. I thought that if I was going to buy a decent camera, the least I could do was to equip myself with the knowledge to be able to use it.

I'm currently building my kit up- bag, uv filters, sturdier tripod etc etc , and working out what sort of photographs I like to take- its looking like landscapes are my favourite, which is handy, considering where I live.

I'm here to share photographs, knowledge, and to meet like minded people.

Joe

Re: Hello from Northumberland

Welcome Joe, from another e520 twin kit lens user.

Although I'm currently suffering a bad case of e5 envy, I think we have great kit to work with!

Look forward to seeing your photo's.

You'll find this site both welcoming and informative, so don't be shy of posting!

Janet

Re: Hello from Northumberland

Warm welcome from yet another E-520 user. I keep trying to justify an E-5 but after coming to the conclusion that I probably won't produce any better images and it weighs twice as much I decide against it.

Lots of very knowledgable and helpful people here. Don't be afraid to ask any question, however silly you might think it.

Re: Hello from Northumberland

Hi from another E520 user although one lucky enough to catch Jessops selling off E30s at excellent value. I initially thought that I would sell on the E520 but quickly decided that there are occasions that it's quite handy having a wide angle on the E520 for landscapes/general setting photos, etc., and the telephoto on the E30 for the more distant action shots. The main thing that I would love to have on the E520 is more focus points!
So last weekend was spend in the Wark/Kielder forest taking photos of the Pirelli Rally with both, and I certainly don't feel second best with the smaller camera!

Hopefully see you on Saturday.

Regards
Chris

Re: Hello from Northumberland

Thanks for the warm welcom everyone, this already feels like a good place to be. I'm looking forward to spending time here.

Hopefully will be at Newcastle meet up this weekend, and will be able to put faces to names, and maybe get a few decent shots
