London

Two views of St Pauls. The second one has been heavily processed to lighten the shadows and straighten the verticals, horizontals, and everything in between.

...and the Shard

... and a view of "the City" from the bridge into Canon Street station

...and a view of "Docklands" from up river

Nice set. The first shot is lovely. Yes, flawed, but it’s difficult/impossible to get a perfect shot from that spot. What lens?

St Pauls, ad St Martin in the Fields museum (if I'm right) takes me back to our visit a long time ago, but your other views are new and unfamiliar.

Re: London

I really like these, especially #1. You've worked hard at correcting the distortion in #2 and almost got away with it!

Thank you Jason. The biggest flaw is me. I often go out and take photos rather than go out to take photos. In this case I was on my way up to St Barts so only had a few minutes to think about and compose my shot. I don't mind if you want to elucidate the flaws you have spotted in the picture in the hope that I can improve the next time I am in the area. E-PM2 and 14-42PZ; the combination is nice and portable and works well in good light but performance is poor when the light falls.

Thank you Mark. The new buildings in the city/docklands area give it an ever changing skyline.

Thank you John. I'll post the original for #2 in LFI so others can comment.

London Canon Street station to St Pauls and onto Barts hospital is a fair walk. Going via the Houses of Parliament would have added a good 45 to 60 minutes onto the journey I'm guessing. There's nothing to see anyway as the corner tower housing the bell (Big Ben) is sorounded by scafolding and plastic at the moment (I don't think the work has been finished). Even the bell has been silenced.

It's still cloaked? I was hoping that I get to see the restored look.

It was like this in January 2018

The programme of works is due to be completed in 2021. As the work progresses (downwards) the scaffolding will be removed. The clock face has been re-painted with blue (the original colour) hands. It's possible that the clock face is now visible as pictures have been released.
