A bit of windsurf action with the 50-200 ED

Its been blowing a bit down here for the last few days so even though the light has been poor I have been down to the beach for three sessions.

Today the light was a little better so I dug out the 50-200 ED and it it on my EM-1 for a shoot of around an hour (after which the rain and dark skies came back)

Although I really like my 40-150 pro I still get great pleasure taking this old lens out now and then and not having to worry so much about getting sand and salt in the works

Here are a few shots, all big crops (50%+ ) as the action was a fair way off shore

As usual I put a gallery together so that the "riders" can access them and download any they want

That's a good point Brian with 4/3s glass being so cheap it does take the stress out of those situations a bit. Superb shots by the way.

Bryan Please show us an image with the whole frame visible so that we can see the degree of cropping. Please

Re: A bit of windsurf action with the 50-200 ED

here you go, horizon levelled so its lost a few pixels at the edges but otherwise uncropped (hmm, didn't do too good a job of levelling, my only excuse is that I'm midway through preparing dinner! )

Funny to see the old boys out there trying to recapture their youth! Great shots.

Re: A bit of windsurf action with the 50-200 ED

some of them are old too (although not as old as me! )

We have one kite who arrives looking like a wizened old man who has trouble walking but when he straps onto his kite he flies like a bird and puts most of the youngsters to shame

(we also get some pretty good youngsters too, the UK University champion sails off here and we had the junior UK kite champion pottering about for a few years before he also went to uni)
