EM1 does nature

I was out yesterday with the EM1 and the Pany 100-300mm, I wanted to grab some nature shots before the colours change and the leaves fall.

I also wanted to try AF tracking for the sailing shots and the closing shot of the cyclists, I now know that it works fairly well providing the subject matter is not travelling too fast.

These are the results - sorry about it being image heavy.

Re: EM1 does nature

A fine set with great variety, I particularly like Nos 6 & 7.

I like No.4 - the 'surprise' of the sycamore seeds in the middle that you see only after a long look

Re: EM1 does nature

Thank you all for the nice comments, it was a nice day and the EM1+100-300 is a great "easy carry" for long walks and the rest of my lenses are primes so fit nicely in the pocket.

I am looking forward to the new firmware in Nov to see what it will add to make a superb camera even better.

Nice autumnal colours, seems like a competent lens in the right hands.

Re: EM1 does nature

I'm also in the "I'm in love with my new EM-1 and PRO lenses!" And am learning how to make the most of them - each trip out with them seems to improve my photography!

Looking at other people's photos on here is also allowing me to see what I could be doing with the kit as well!

Looking forward to putting up a WOW photo at some time!

Re: EM1 does nature

Thank you all.

Despite the fact it is an older lens and f4 - 5.6 so not fast, it delivers good quality images and compliments the EM1 very well (I do find that EM1 benefits from having the battery grip fitted as it provides a nice balance especially when shooting at 300mm).

I currently have a nice set of primes (12mm / 25mm (Summilux) / 45mm / 75mm) so do not feel the need to go with the cost / size of the pro zooms.

Re: EM1 does nature

Thanks Ian,

I do tend to use the 100-300 more than the other lenses when on a "walkabout".
