Hello from Germany

Hi, i'm Michael from Germany. Found you via photostartsheet.com.

I started with photography ca. 40 years ago with a Voigtländer Bessa and switched to the OM 1 a few years later. Since then i really love these magnificient little machines (OM 1, OM 2, OM 2n) and now i'm back with the EM 1. Before that i tried a few other brands, but all of them were to heavy.

I love to take landscapes, cityscapes and so on. Above all i use the sigma 30 and 60 mm. Wonderful little lenses with really great performance.

And...i love to travel to Scotland

Re: Hello from Germany

And a willkommen from me. You have found a nice friendly forum. My first serious camera was an OM1n in 1980. I still love the feel of older cameras like this even though my OM1n died many years ago. I still have a couple of Zuikos though.

Re: Hello from Germany

Hi Michael.

On BBC Radio 4 there's a wonderful series 'Germany: Memories of a Nation':

http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b04dwbwz

It's presented by the director of the British Museum - Neil MacGregor.

I'm recording all the programmes as my wife is German (from Koenigsberg!) and there's a lot about East Prussia.

When I've downloaded them all, I'll send you a copy if you're interested. A nice thing about them is that Neil MacGregor speaks very clearly and deliberately, so the programmes would be particularly good for a non native English speaker.

Jim
