Sedge Warbler in the Reeds

This showy Sedge Warbler put on a fine display for me as it moved through the reeds, singing continually. For me it is the sound of summer.

E-M1 II, 300mm f4 and MC-14.

Re: Sedge Warbler in the Reeds

Lovely birds and your usual excellent portraits.

Am missing all of the singing at the moment. Its a great time of year and I look forward to the drizzle stopping so I can enjoy it myself...

Ron, out of (extreme) interest, how did you get so close...……..?

I wander around WWT and other reserves, and never get to these so close, but I want the walk as well...

I assume you are in a hide or kitchen window (joke) …………...

Hi Mark. No, not from my kitchen window. I was out in the open and not in a hide. This one was an extremely confiding bird. He was obviously just interested in finding a mate and, although he was obviously aware of me, he didn't seem at all bothered. At times he was actually a bit too close for the 300mm f4 and teleconverter. There was also a handy wooden fence for me to lean on for support, which helped me to hold the camera steady. I don't get many opportunities like that.

Ron
