Me Too, many thanks to Olympus

Only just realised, that was my 1000th post. I'd hoped it would be more helpful.

Re: Message from Olympus UK re E-M1 supply issues

Has anyone who registered for both freebies received only the MMF-3 in their shipment? Although I was promised (as many others) to receive both before Christmas only the MMF-3 arrived on 13th January. At the request of Edita at Olympus European Customer Support I am checking with DPD but it does seem that only the MMF-3 was sent out. Indeed, the box it arrived in was too small for both items. However, the covering letter implied that BOTH freebies were in the box. As I have no 4/3 lenses it is the battery grip which is important for me - typical! Edita has been very helpful so I trust that the grip will arrive soon - maybe Germany has run out although you might have expected a "to follow" note in the box.

Re: Message from Olympus UK re E-M1 supply issues

Although i recieved my mmf-3 adapter & hld-7 free gift from olympus at the end of december, today a second set arrived for me. After all it is my birthday. Olympus are arranging to pick it up from me later this week.
Another person may be still waiting for a set.
Regards,

Re: Message from Olympus UK re E-M1 supply issues

I have also received a second set of free gifts (Battery grip and MMF3) from Olympus. I have sent Olympus two emails asking them what they want me to do with them but they have not as yet got back to me.

Re: Message from Olympus UK re E-M1 supply issues

I am now a proud member of the two freebies club. Got back from a trip away to find a card from DPD saying they had left a parcel next door, and just been to collect it.

Oh well, time to email Oly again .... better to have two sets than a smaller even number.

Ciao ... John

I would email Olympus Support. I'd start with André Kellerberg.

I have to say, an expression incorporating the words 'organise' and 'brewery' comes to mind. Unbelievable!

Re: Message from Olympus UK re E-M1 supply issues

I found the (long) email thread with Oly support from when I was trying to find out whether my request for the goodies had been received OK. I just updated that and got a response back this morning, which I thought was pretty good.

Email address was camera.support.uk@olympus.eu and person dealing with it Edita Warlopova. She was very helpful in trying to track down the original request.

Her suggestion was that I provide a day when the couriers could call to pick it up. I didn't fancy waiting around for that, the LCE shop where I bought the camera were quite happy to hold it for collection so I dropped it off there and am about to pass their address back to Oly.

In this case it looks very much as though the cockup is all with the third party handling the distribution, and Oly support have done whatever they could all the way through. I shudder to think what it has cost them in time and effort to sort out the mess.

Ciao ... John

Re: Message from Olympus UK re E-M1 supply issues

As mentioned in the other thread my second set of HLD-7/MMF-3 arrived last week. It has now arrived back at Olympus in Prague last Friday.
I phoned Olympus Europe Customer Support on the 0800 number from the website and spoke with Edita.
She is very helpful and did an excellent job in arranging for DHL to collect the package at a time which was convenient for me.
