Re: ZUIKO DIGITAL ED 300mm 1:2.8

I wish I could justify the cost. But I only have an E-620 so It would probably be wasted on me and it's quite a risk to have that amount of money tied up in a lens that may not sell quickly if I need to get the money back from it..Gah, I wish

I took the view that the money was earning peanuts in my building society and that I'd get a lot of fun using the lens.

Hi Dave,

just tried to send you a pm and got the message:

" sapper has exceeded their stored private messages quota and cannot accept further messages until they clear some space."

I am interested, can you send me a pm with an email address?

Thanks

Andy

Anyone interested? It is in very good nick, C/W filters and case.

I hope you don't mind me asking but isn't micro 4/3s going to seem very limiting when your used to using something like the 300mm. I'd also like to think micro 4/3s would be the way forward but the lenses to replace even my meagre collection aren't there yet and I'm not sure just how far the long end will be able to go.

Good luck with your sale I'd have to have an awful lot of brownie pints to go for something like that

I used exactly the same reasoning when I bought mine, and the 150mm Sigma and the ....................

If I do ever decide to sell it, I know it might take a while to move it on, but I'm hoping I'll not be selling in extremis.

No Trevor, I don't think so.
I will be using the OM-D and 100-300mm Pano lens, just ordered one from Kerso, that will be much easier for me to handle.
I really didn't use the lens that much, it did spend a lot of time gathering dust, (sorry Melaka) so better someone else gets the benifit of it and I can pay a few bills as well as fund stuff for the OM-D.
(This is the theory anyway)

Mine doesn't get used every day! Its last outing was in the Camargue in June and its next will probably be to Norfolk in October when the migrtory birds come in. Nevertheless it earns its keep.

I'm debating the future of mine and will bear you in mind if I decide to sell it.

The problem with me is that by the time I can afford to buy it, I won't be able to carry it! Maybe in the meantime a sensible lease purchase agreement might be achieved!

Re: ZUIKO DIGITAL ED 300mm 1:2.8

I have to say I don't think a gimbal head is needed for the 300mm. I sold my gimbal when I sold my last 600mm. My 350mm is bigger and heavier than the 300 but I've never used it on a gimbal.

Surely someone with an EM-1 should be scraping the pennies together for this right now - I know I would be...
