Bathing Turnstone

This Turnstone was bathing in a rock pool at Lowestoft last week. There was so much action going on that I had to use C-AF and it seemed to work quite well.

E-1 II, 300mm f4 and MC-14.

Nice. Wish we had these ones around, unfortunately they are rarely observed here.

Re: Bathing Turnstone

Looks like a nice day to have gone out. Lovely shots and colours.

Glad you have found something that works for you and you can spend more of the time enjoying the birds.

That's a pity Tord. They are very common where I live and there was around thirty of them when I took these shots. They are extremely confiding and were too close to photograph for much of the time. Very entertaining little waders.

Thanks Peter. This was my first time out with thecamera this year. I am not a fan of cold weather these days but it was bright and sunny on Thursday which makes the bitter cold much more bearable.

I am getting used to the added reach of the 1.4 teleconverter with the 300mm lens and am enjoying using it with the E-M1 II.
