No! I guess you'll do as I & wait till Tuesday for the normal (recommended user) method.

No. You just connect your camera to your PC (or Mac) with Camera Updater or Olympus Viewer 3 program running, select "Storage" & press (OK) on the camera & the camera will update all the firmware to the latest which is 3.0. http://dl01.olympus-imaging.com/ww/u.../index30a.html




Don't disconnect at all during the process, especially at the end when it is flashing it to the camera & wait for the OK to appear on the screen of your camera. It is a nice feeling when that OK screen shows.


Even more important, make sure you are using a freshly charged battery.

Another thing. If you have favourite settings, write them all down (on a copy of the Menu page from your manual) because updating from anything before version 2.0 it will reset all settings back to default. Also, there is a Version 2 manual as well as an update page for Version 3.0 download from here. http://www.olympus.co.jp/en/support/...l/pen.cfm#body
