A few birds and a crescent moon

Dusted off the Tokina 300 today.
All including the moon were taken with the Tokina, x1.4 TC and E-M1.

Thanks for looking and feel free to comment

Re: A few birds and a crescent moon

is that the Tokina 300 f2.8 you are using there Huw?

Excellent results if so, as it will have been manual focus, great detail and colour too

Thanks David, shame it's a bit soft, I didn't get the focus quite right on that one.

Hi Brian, thanks yes it's Tokina 300 f/2.8 FD mount together with with a Canon x1.4 TC. Focus peaking is a great tool

Hello Huw,
Lovely shots I particularly like the colours of the Starling and the way the Blackcap is framed by the tree.

Re: A few birds and a crescent moon

Huw, given the winter we've had so far it's just nice not to see birds through falling snow and surrounded by snow and ice.

Re: A few birds and a crescent moon

Another lovely set Huw. That E-M1 might be good, but that Tokina lens certainly shines (along with the operator)!

Nice Images Huw. You've certainly got that lens and camera combination working well. First one's my favourite.

I keep looking at the Ffordes site where they have these for sale, it looks like a remarkable lens but the weight puts me off from buying it. Do you use it off the monopod or tripod (or are you able to hand hold it?)
