Wide Angle Lens

Been considering a switch of DSLR systems due to some size issues with my e620 and also struggling with lenses as there seems to be little third party support for Olympus.
However it seems that no matter what system I were to go to and it would probably be either back to Sony or over to Pentax the affordable wide angle options seem to be the same, Sigma 10-20 or pretty much nothing.
Now I know that everyone raves about the 7-14mm but I am also aware it is 1000+ so its not an option, but how good is the 11-22mm wide angle lens and the 9-18mm as they seem relatively affordable and I'd hope a step up from the Sigma 10-20?

Re: Wide Angle Lens

The 9-18 is pretty good and free from distortion, but don't ever try a 7-14. After that, nothing comes close.

Not used a 9-18 but it is a favourably reviewed lens at a good price.

I have played with a 7-14 and one day, when I have the money...

Until then I have the 11-22 which is a very good lens and available at a reasonable price.

Chris

The 11-22 is a very nice lens and is about the same size as the 14-54
If your interested I still have mine for sale see link below which includes link to some samples from it - I'm selling as I'm more a long lens man and the 12-60 is wide enough for me

This is an interesting review of the 9-18 compared to 7-14

Good though some of them are (e.g. Sigma 150mm macro), third party lenses for Olympus generally offer second class quality compared to the Zuikos.
