Lixouri Fish

Seen while waiting for the ferry in Lixouri, Kefalonia, this chap wasn't selling much...

Re: Lixouri Fish

Hi there Brian!

Looks like he was likely to loose some of them if those circling gulls are like the ones in the UK. A lovely vibrant image, and I love the juxtaposition of the old dilapidated boat next to the shiny new digital scales. Thanks for posting,

Cheers,

Ralph.

Thanks Ralph. Perhaps I should have said that this was taken on the E-M1 with the cheapo 14-42mm - a very useful walk-around lens.

Re: Lixouri Fish

Great light and an intriging situation. The shiny new scales do indeed look out of place but it's the interaction (or lack of) between the fishmonger and his potential customer that really interests me. Perhaps it was only for the split second in which this image was captured, but the two seem to be going out of their way to avoid contact with each other. As you say, a sale doesn't seem very likely!

Can't decide if I like this best with the sky and gulls intact, or cropped to remove them. There is merit in both approaches.

Thanks John... I left the sky in to remind me of the lovely weather we had! And the gull on the left has a shadow on the canvas - I couldn't bring myself to crop it after I had noticed that.
