At 400 it's quite a steal - if the size/weight isn't too much for you (including the 4/3 to u4/3 adapter).
I'm not sure I agree with his assessment of corner sharpness. I tried a quick comparison outside a camera shop with both versions last year. The new version seemed consistently softer at the corners, even stopped down. It may have been a bad sample, but it was enough to convince me to hang on to the old beastie, which has always been one of my favourite lenses. I never trusted the AF, even on 4/3 bodies, so usually focus manually. You rapidly learn the position on the focus scale for various zoom settings, which can save time. It is fairly big and heavy, but on the E-M1, ideally with the grip, it handles nicely. You can't really walk around with it bouncing round your neck though!

Re: For Sale 7-14mm f/4 pro lens

I used the original 7-14 on the E5 for taking pictures of art in art galleries, it was much better than the 12-60 - too much distortion on the 12-60 at wide angles. (I could also sneak in front of the crowds looking at the pictures).

In MFT land the 12-40 is great in art galleries so the 7-14 does not get so much work - however I will not sell my 7-14mm lens.

Re: For Sale 7-14mm f/4 pro lens

Used mine on the em5 mk2 with adapter today to take pictures of the garden makeover in progress from upstairs. I find autofocus is fine.

It oozes quality. I Love it and like Jim will use it for a few things each year (fungi, flowers and tight spots) but keep it forever.

Interesting, thanks, it seems that the OP seems to err slightly on the side of the quality of the newer lens.

When I commented about focus on M4/3, I should have said on an E-M5. My copies of camera/lens only rarely managed to lock focus. Others may have more success, of course.

Re: For Sale 7-14mm f/4 pro lens

I received the lens today and it's everything I hoped it would be and exactly as described. Steve was very easy to deal with and his communication was excellent. I can recommend him as a seller without hesitation.

Thanks for the instant payment Leslie. No messing about on your part of the transaction and a pleasure selling to you.

Cheers
