New Firmware 2.0

Looks like there is a firmware update to version 2.0 for the E-M5 which addes ISO100 and a smaller AF focus point

Re: New Firmware 2.0

I've uploaded it without problem and it does just what it says, haven't spotted any "Hidden" improvements but its good to have the ISO100 option and the small focus point of the EM-1

Re: New Firmware 2.0

Also updated mine both features are appreciated although the small focus spot matrix is not as dense at the E-M1.
Would also like Olympus to add peaking in a future release.

Re: New Firmware 2.0

The number of focus areas remains the same. However, I'm very pleased with this update as it should reduce the number of trips to MFland and the ISO 100 means that the Pana 25mm 1.4 will be almost usable wide open in the sun (shame I'm thinking I may need to sell it....) and in particular it should help the f1.8's which are closer to the borderline.

Hadn't expected a new firmware update to be smuggled in with the E-M10 announcement and it helps the 5 to match the new upstart in the majority of areas while of course retaining the weather-sealing and IBIS advantages. Kudos to Olympus!

David

Re: New Firmware 2.0

Updated mine this morning, that lower ISO will help in the summer months when last year I often hit the max shutter speed with my 45mm 25mm & even my pannys 12-35 & 35-100mm at f2.8. One of the many reasons I purchased the M1

Re: New Firmware 2.0

Updated mine which is now the stand-by second camera to my E-M1. That is until a second E-M1 arrives next week. Then like David I shall be selling my E-M5 already nicely updated!

Re: New Firmware 2.0

Well I finally plucked up my courage to do my first firmware update as version 2.0 is just what the E-M5 needs for macro and landscapes. I'm pleased to say it went ok using viewer 2 although I had to do 1.3 first before it would let me do 2.0. Just hoping for an improvement in the weather to get out and try it. At the risk of being hard to please I wonder if version 2.1 will give us ISO 50 for those of us who can remember Velvia 50 and K64!

Re: New Firmware 2.0

Hello Richard,
I'd forgotten about K25 which I used once on a college trip to Holland, the quality was unbelievable.
Regards Jim.
