The Broken Wood

The machines have been in at a local wood and have torn the trees down revealing a small ruined building that was previously hidden by the trees. Any comments on technique, composition and processing would be appreciated.

I like it Greg, the composition is good and suits the square format and makes for a nice mono image. I love old derelict buildings and things they always make for interesting and imaginative photography.

Re: The Broken Wood

I like the format, and the subject, but I'd have liked the buiding to have been given greater prominence.

Re: The Broken Wood

Thanks fellas. It was the building that attracted me initially Stephen but when I got there the texture of the torn wood really grabbed me and I was determined to use it as a foreground.

This is another shot which perhaps gives a little more prominence to the building by way of the light falling on it.

Cheers

Greg

Re: The Broken Wood

I like it. I think that second one's much better, the light on the building ties in with the foreground wood.
