Done

Doesn't remove the error message relating to line 12

I never had the other problem.

Good to see it was a simple fix

The error message you see (and 3 others reported by firebug) are not directly related to the cookie problem they are simple scripting errors brought about (I think) by updating the Vbulletin software but forgetting to update the portal page / CMPS? to suit (or possibly vice versa).

Re: Recent Threads issue

Hi All,

Paul's suggestion regarding a cookie or temp file issue also corrected my drop down box problem.

Thinking further about this I feel there is some connection between this problem and the default setting of the "In Focus" drop down box ie. open/collapsed depending on if logged in or not.

While I don’t mind the adverts in the “In Focus” panel I found that the new larger size squashed The “Recent Threads” to such an extent that they where on multiple lines making them very difficult to read on a 19 inch screen and I think I may have collapsed the panel to try to get more room for “Recent Threads” causing my original problem.

Would it be possible to have the option to view “Recent Threads” full page in the same way as “New Posts”?

Regards

Gavin

Hi GNO

The 'Recent Threads' section is a module within the Portal Application, and is very much the same as 'New Posts' on the forum pages.

Personally, I tend not to use the portal pages, and have the forum new-posts link bookmarked as my gateway to e-group.

Hi John,

Using "New Posts" as a gateway is fine if you read all the new posts in one visit if not on a subsequent visit only posts later to first visit are available.

Re modular format are you saying that you do not have access to the code to be able to run a query / report linked to a new page in the same way as "New Posts".

Gavin

Re: Recent Threads issue

Hi, for the time being I have disabled the collapsible module function and this seems to work for me.

If this causes problems for anyone, please get in touch.

Thanks - and sorry for any inconvenience!

Ian

Re: Recent Threads issue

Thanks Ian,

That's an improvement. I wonder if its not possible to have "New Threads" on a page of its own, could the width of the "Gallery Showcase", "In Focus" and "Calendar" be decreased as they do not appear to need the full column width and given to "Recent Threads" which would benifit from the extra.

Regards

Gavin

Would that not be the same as simply clicking the 'new posts' link though?

Hi John,

Yes and No.
As I mentioned in a previous post. If all "New Posts" are not viewed on first visit to the site, subsequent visits do not show threads that were not viewed on that first visit; but are on "Recent Threads".

Regards

Gavin
