AEL question

I can't find reference to this in the manual, but is there a way to make AEL "sticky" so you have to positively switch it off, as you can with the E-5x0?

Stephen

If you set S-AF to mode 5 in wrench 1 AEL/AFL this seems to do the trick.I do not trust myself to remember to to release it so have not used it.
I've just tried it and it seems to work.
Also I have my camera set in mode 4 and focus with the AEL button and the focus set to manual. This way I can auto focus and the do a manual "tweek".
My AEL is locked by half pressing the shutter.

Hope this helps.

Re: AEL question

Thanks Andy, I was shown this "trick" by an Olympus service rep for my E-510 back in February, and have used it since. I'll try the other setting too.

Re: AEL question

Does this help? It seems to have quite a comprehensive run down of AEL/AFL uses and modes.

Re: AEL question

Thanks Neil, yes this explains it better than the manual! Looks like Mode 5 in S-AF is what I want.
I understand Andy's concerns about forgetting to switch it off, but for me it's easier than waving the camera about whilst holding a button down! Just have to exercise the old single grey cell a bit more to remember!
