Trypich

Help!!
I need to make a trypich. 1 image in portrait mode, 2 in landscape mode.
I have tried different tutorials on the web to no avail. I have LR4 which as far as I can see is good for 3 images in same format, PS 5 which just does my head in, Pages on a Mac.
I need to get it done before the weekend for a club comp so would realy appreciate some help. (It needs to be simple)

Forgot to say, it need to be in jpeg format.

Re: Trypich

I've always done this sort of thing in PaintShopPro 4.12 (the free version), but I am a bit of a luddite.
Work out pixel sizes of each part in final image and hence pixel size of final image allowing for any borders or gaps between images.
File -> new image -> enter width and height of new canvas
open your 3 images and in turn select one, resize to the size on new canvas, and cut and past it to the new canvas, moving it to the desired location in the final image as you do so.

Hope I haven't got the wrong end of the stick as to what you are trying to do.

I did achieve some success with this sort of thing with the windows printer driver. Just select 3 images and right click->print. It comes up with a limited set of option as to how to organise them on a sheet of paper. Dead easy but not much control.

Should be possible with any pixel based bitmap editor.

Re: Trypich

Hi,

I'd use Photoshop in a very simple way:

Open the middle image.
Image, Re-Size, Canvas Size (Alt+Ctrl+C)
Adjust width to the desired size of the other images
Open each of the other images
Select All (Ctrl+A) & Copy (Ctrl+C)
Re-Select original middle image (Ctrl+V) - Pastes in a new layer

Adjust positions, size (with transform) and when happy, crop to shape required

resize to fit for DPI or Print.

Re: Trypich

Use Pages - The page layout feature, create your individual images, drag / import them into the page layout and print. Scale them to suit then export as a PDF file then use Preview to convert to Jpg to print. Actuslly you could probably print from the Pages directly.

Here is one I have just done to show you

Re: Trypich

Picasa 3 can put a "collage" of images together very quick. This was done in seconds (and it shows), but with a bit more work, borders and other effects can easily be added.

OR:

You can always go old school, print them then get the scissors & glue out

I did a search for free PSP and came up with this Chevvy,

Looking at operating systems it only mentions windows, not mac.

Re: Trypich

Well done Dave. Glad you got there. That 2nd photo has a familiar ring to it, sure I've seen its twin around here somewhere.

Re: Trypich

This is the kind of thing you could ask someone to come along to your club to demonstrate

Re: Trypich

Hi Dave,

Looks like you got your problem sorted, however for the future you might want to try this solution within CS5. www.lumens.se/tychpanel/ Which is very versatile and best of all free. Check it out I use it all the time and it just works and you can create all manor of triptych variations.

Hope this helps.
