Cool And the winner of the 7th E-group challenge is ...

.... Snaarman, with "Geometry".

Congratulations.

Runners up were

2nd

AndyM - "Atomium"

and there was an incredible three-way tie for 3rd with Barr1e's "Diamond with a little extra", "Geo-bridge" and Who's_E's "Square3" winning the same number of voting points

Here are those three pictures

Well done everybody, it was a close fought contest, thank you for taking part and thanks too to everybody who voted.

Over to you now Pete, enjoy setting the forum's 8th Challenge

Hey Pete - a very worthy winner indeed, great shot that one. Well done to the runners up too, what an excellent challenge. I would like to thank Ellie for choosing such a super theme for challenge #7.

I am looking forward to challenge #8 and hope to get the time to enter this one.

Re: And the winner of the 7th E-group challenge is ...

Wow, that's the first photo-anything I have won!!

As soon as I saw the title I had these props in mind It was a ten minute shoot with one of those flu-tube inspection lamps up close as the main illumination. I cleaned the shiny stuff and spent most of the time tweaking the position to get the right composition and reflections in the chrome. Finally, convert to B+W partly because it suited the subject, partly because flu-tube lighting does no-one any favours!

OK, there will be a very short pause while I pick a subject and quiz Ellie how one organises one of these :-)

Thanks folks

Pete

Congratulations
Your shot hit me straight away especially the sharpness of the compass.
Im glad I was thinking with the majority with my voting.
Looking forward to the next challenge where hopefully I will be brave enough to enter an image myself.

Apologies to Rod Souter, whose picture "Geo-bridge" came joint 3rd. I somehow managed to miss out your name.

Well done Pete!

I find it interesting to see people's interpretation of subject matter - I might have entered if I'd had any imagination !

Well done to all those who entered too - I take my hat off to you
