Another 70-300 question

Am trying to get hold of the elusive 70-300mm lens but am now wondering if I should, I mainly take photos of wildlife and aircraft at air shows which are always fast moving. I would be interested in what others think, should I still get this or should I get something else.
At present I have the 510 with the 40-150 kit lens which is short of what I need in terms of distance.
