Arrow Olympus m.Zuiko 14-150mm f/4-5.6 superzoom sample images

Four Thirds User (Fourthirds-user.com) is a sibling site to the e-group.

Our sample 14-150mm m.Zuiko Micro Four Thirds super zoom lens has arrived. And here are our initial impressions, plus a gallery of 38 sample images taken today, including RAW and JPEG camera files. And also included is a movie clip to demonstrate the improved focus capability of the new lens.

A minor point of interest - I can confirm that the LH-61C petal style lens hood of the 14-42 Four Thirds kit zoom fits the Micro Four Thirds 14-150.

Well done Olympus for that!

This willingness by Olympus to standardise components where possible is often overlooked. Witness the battery situation - only two types of battery to go between all its DSLR and Pen cameras, and the ability to share grips between the E-3 and E-30. Most other makes bring out a new camera, and you need a new type of battery!

Wonder if anyone's going to come up with a BLS to BLM adapter. Hence those of us with twin cameras would not need to carry 2 types of batteries and chargers.

I am pleased that Olympus have come up with a walk around lens for micro 4/3rds however, this should have been available in standard four thirds ages ago. This only helps to fuel the rumour mongers that standard 4/3rds is finished.

Well there is the 18-180 for 4/3, been available for as long as I can remember.

Panasonic also produced their Leica-branded 14-150. It's a truly great lens, but hard to find at the moment.
