Uh oh the E-PL5 can do airshows

Yep it can, almost as good as the E-30.
The first 3 are straight from the camera. the fourth I adjusted in LR. Settings were Vivid, +2 Contrast, -2 Sharpening, +1EV,(ETTR), MF using back button focus, and left hand manual focus, (unfortunatly). None sharpened in LR, forgot to set the preset on import and haven't gotton that far in PP.

Took 500 images, and I thought I was being conservative.

Never thought I would use video on a stills camera, really I thought it was a waste. I used it, how else would I get to save that Merlin music. Impressed with the video on the camera, but it's not for me, in that I am not steady enough to use it.

With the 40-150, (JPEG from camera)

With the 50-200mm, (RAW)

Again with the 50-200mm, (RAW)

50-200mm, (RAW), but this time I fiddled with the focus, (I'll never learn to trust the camera!)

Re: Uh oh the E-PL5 can do airshows

Looks good. I would have cropped photos 1-3 a bit, so that the planes would be more pronounced. Would love to see more.
For your info: on Friday 14 June & Saturday 15 June 2013 there is a big airshow celebrating 100 yrs of RNLAF at Volkel AB, The netherlands.
Look here for more info: http://www.defensie.nl/english/air_force/open_days/

Btw, 500 pics is very conservative.
I shoot a 750-100+ per airshow per day.

I just haven't gotton that far yet, the only one PP'd is the Spitfire, because while I was in there seeing how bad I messed up the cameras focus I thought I would do all of it.

750-1000 at an airshow....per day....Yikes. But I can see how it is easily done. The problem I have is on this occasion there seem to be very few bad ones.

Not saying that there are bad ones in my shoots. Only less good ones. At least to my liking. But then again...I'm an aircraft spotter.
Maybe a good idea for you to read my tutorial about photographing airplanes http://e-group.uk.net/forum/showthread.php?t=19037
