Shambolic

Not posted for a while so thought I would jump back in at the deep end.

Recent trip to York, well actually not that recent but it was a trip.

My first foray into 'street' type photography ... if that is what it could be classed as.

Anyway, opinions valued as always

Re: Shambolic

Welcome back.

It's definitely street and very good too, with nice light and atmosphere.

Re: Shambolic

First one is a winner for me... the lighting on the man in the middle and his shadow emphasise the strong light sunshine, I'd be very happy with that one.

Not really feeling the second one though, I don't think there's enough contact with the subject to really draw you in.

Re: Shambolic

I agree...its all about the light...No 1 for me too.
The light coming down the street enhances and is a key part of the image in No1 but it does the opposite in the second one and detracts from the subject.

Re: Shambolic

Spent 3 year there and I've been back a few time since. Nice and evocative pics but #1 is the better by far IMHO.

Re: Shambolic

Number 1.

The gaggle of hatted windowshoppers looks far more interesting than Mr.Buttons in Number2, so it misses out on the focus of interest for me.

Re: Shambolic

I like the first capture its well captured and the black n white works well,
The second does nothing for me im afraid it looks out of focus and is framed too tight with feet partly missing of person in centre of it.
