Picture Error

Hi all,

Has anyone managed to recover images from an xd card that has files that display "PICTURE ERROR" when viewed ???

It's my own fault, disconnected the wrong USB lead during a write cycle and now have 7 file with the PICTURE ERROR message displayed when viewing them

Fortunatly nothing important :\

Re: Picture Error

You can try testdisk which includes photorec for recovering files.

http://www.cgsecurity.org/wiki/TestDisk

Its multi platform and is released under GNU (open source)

I have used it several times. You will need to connect the flash card into a card reader. It may work when used in the camera (when using the storage option), but I have never tried this.

Re: Picture Error

John,
Thanks for the link. As soon as I saw your answer I remembered I had a disk "RescuePro" that came with my SanDisk card. I tried that and it worked.

Thanks for taking the time and effort to help, it's very much appreciated.
