Postman's here!!!!!

The postman arrived this morning with my new FL-36R

Now did I:

A Open the box, take out the instruction booklet, read it and the workout how to use it properly

Or

B Stick a couple off battery's in and run around the house firing the flash like a demented mongoose

A is recommended.

B is unavoidable

(You may however have to consult the instruction booklet for the the wirelless control of the flash).

Re: Postman's here!!!!!

Well done that man. Reading instructions is for wimps...

Furthermore, in two year's time, imagine the joy when you find out all the other stuff it can do: It will be like having a whole new flash

Proof positive, that we don't need instruction manuals.

Think of all the trees that would be saved...

How much more fun is it to ask for help here...

When all else fails give it to a 12 year old.

Couldn't agree more, this new fangled interwideweb thingy is a wonderful resource.

You can download a camera manual before you get the camera. Then when you've got the camera you can instantly set it to native ISO, aperture priority, RAW, AdobeRGB and MF and you've got a digital version of the film cameras you shot with for decades.

Ha, ha. The lady is right you know!. I gave mine to my good lady and she quickly sorted me out with a lamp shade for it...

But, as a fully fledged member of the impetuous sex, I only use the manual when I have bit's left over.

Re: Postman's here!!!!!

Reminds me of a Dave Barry quote:

"Congratulations! You have purchased an extremely fine device that would give you thousands of years of trouble-free service, except that you undoubtably will destroy it via some typical bonehead consumer maneuver. Which is why we ask you to PLEASE FOR GOD'S SAKE READ THIS OWNER'S MANUAL CAREFULLY BEFORE YOU UNPACK THE DEVICE. YOU ALREADY UNPACKED IT, DIDN'T YOU? YOU UNPACKED IT AND PLUGGED IT IN AND TURNED IT ON AND FIDDLED WITH THE KNOBS, AND NOW YOUR CHILD, THE SAME CHILD WHO ONCE SHOVED A POLISH SAUSAGE INTO YOUR VIDEOCASSETTE RECORDER AND SET IT ON "FAST FORWARD", THIS CHILD ALSO IS FIDDLING WITH THE KNOBS, RIGHT? AND YOU'RE JUST NOW STARTING TO READ THE INSTRUCTIONS, RIGHT??? WE MIGHT AS WELL JUST BREAK THESE DEVICES RIGHT AT THE FACTORY BEFORE WE SHIP THEM OUT, YOU KNOW THAT?"

Just because you guys are able to read the instructions, prepare lunch, talk on the phone, and get the batteries in the right way round; all at the same time.

We like to savour the moment and enjoy playing with our new toys...

Re: Postman's here!!!!!

LOL - this was fun!

Especially so, as I am expecting MY OWN FL-36R to arrive tomorrow! YES!
And I certainly will go for 'B' too
