Re: Whats next for Olympus?

Long long ago, when a Rolleiflex was the camera of choice, the company introduced a smaller version which they called the 'Sports Rolleiflex'. I assume the idea was that the smaller, lighter body allowed for faster operation.

Now, we have the Olympus bodies, which similarly offer smaller, lighter bodies and faster operation than DSLRs. To qualify as the 'preferred' cameras for sports and wildlife, they need the lenses - especially fast, long telephotos.

This is the application area in which the potential size and weight savings of a smaller format are maximised, so a market 'push' in this direction could drive out those huge white lenses that are currently so popular.

But that's a lens. It can be made up in a lens cap for any (ICL) camera, but you can have fun with a pinhole camera if you want. I've actually ordered the 9mm lens cap for my E-M5 (so it will get used), where it has buttons & functions. I like buttons & functions!
