Re: Far too good to be true?

The odd thing is that I got an email to my personal email address, rather than through Ebay. I wonder how they obtained it?

They were probably originally salvage items recovered from Fukushima Daiichi and bought by an enterprising Chinese Ebayer. The bright glow from the package would have been spotted by customs anyway.

I paid by Paypal and when I checked my account, the sum hadn't been claimed - so I cancelled the payment.

Re: Far too good to be true?

Going back about 10 years, there was a similar scam for and X-Pan 30mm lens, worth 2,000.

I reported it but had to do so several times, as it regularly reappeared.

Re: Far too good to be true?

For comparison, on the right hand side of the photo is a solar panel we used for a camping trip over Christmas. The panel was able to supply everyones mobile devices with power and 3 refrigerated cool boxes for 7 days - essential for keeping the beers on ice. Nice piece of kit with its own battery, at 160 GBP all in. There was a little box with it, with USB connectors, which showed a digital read out of 13.6V
