Exclamation Now another firmware update 2.2 for E-M1!

I wasn't going to bother updating my cameras for the 40-150 lens inclusion as I can't afford that lens (at this point in time), but I just noticed today (while checking on the 2.0 update date & I now notice they have brought a fix as follows:-

Ver.2.2
(Nov.20 2014)

The issue in firmware version 2.0 and 2.1 where bright points appear in some images has been resolved.

So it looks like I better update it then.

Thanks for the heads-up Ross. I haven't noticed this problem but may as well stay current anyway.

But it's not a rumour. Why should they concern themselves with facts?

Re: Now another firmware update 2.2 for E-M1!

Just been on the Olympus UK site and checked firmware updates for the E-M1, it makes no mention of a firmware 2.2 but only the 2.1 released on the 13th November so where have you found a version 2.2?

The only reliable site for Olympus firmware updates is, as Ross has linked, Olympus Japan.

Re: Now another firmware update 2.2 for E-M1!

I've just done mine. OV3 found the update for me and the whole process took about seven minutes. I haven't noticed any differences but I was not aware of the problem anyway.

Thanks for the heads up.

I hadn't noticed any problems but the firmware is now updated, the update took around 5 minutes in total.

They don't just post rumours but also let the world know that there is new stuff out.

Now done mine successfully. Version 2.1 must be one of the shortest versions ever! Anyway thanks Ross.

Re: Now another firmware update 2.2 for E-M1!

I've just installed v2.2. It only took ~5minutes. The process is much less nerve-wracking now that I have Camera Updater v1.2 which shows a Download progress indicator.

The MySets have been preserved (going from 2.1 to 2.2). Thank you Ross (and Olympus!)
