Re: Silver 75mm 1.8

I will keep on using the forum but I'm not selling anything any more. It's not pleasant.

I thought that someone would want an immaculate 75/1.8 - I have never used a better lens, with superb out of focus. Brilliant for weddings.

Re: Silver 75mm 1.8

Sue, 500 is a fair price...just because one sold for 476 on eBay does not mean the next one will sell for less than 476...or that you have to sell yours for less!

I wanted one not long ago and paid more than 500 ...pity I do not need 2 :-)

Re: Silver 75mm 1.8

I agree its a fair price too. I think you've just been unfortunate at the moment. Hang in there I'm sure someone will bite in the end. Mind you if you look at some of the shots Oly Paul is posting you might just change your mind about selling.

Re: Silver 75mm 1.8

I'd like to echo the pleas about not being upset. I must also say that I have seen a brand-new one for sale from Simply Electronics, postage free, for 519.95.

I can't afford that at the moment either (!) - I'm just trying to help.

Re: Silver 75mm 1.8

If you think selling here is an unpleasant experience, try ebay. If you sell something there for 500, you only get about 450. There is also no guarantee your auction will reach that price. This is why motivated sellers here offer discounts over ebay prices.

Re: Silver 75mm 1.8

For what it's worth, I tend not to use eBay as a price guide; instead I look at how much the item is for sale (used examples) at online dealers and/or forums and price accordingly.

Re: the 75mm lens, I noted that a couple of online dealers have used examples of the 75mm (with warranty and lens hood) for under 500. I have sold my own 75mm lens this morning for 465 which I feel is indicative of the current used market for private sellers.

Good luck with your sale.

Re: Silver 75mm 1.8

It is difficult to disagree with the comments made regarding the price.

Surely, if Mr Beagletorque had actually been interested, given that the price is in the original post, he could have made an offer, or is that not allowed here?

Re: Silver 75mm 1.8

It's up to the seller if they wish to negotiate a selling price and up to potential buyers to a) ask the question and b) make an offer (!) - on this forum it can be done either on thread or via Private Message (PM); other forums may have different rules regarding communications on or off thread.

Re: Silver 75mm 1.8

I do believe most people here are non-professional photographers, and thus, most lenses for sale are bought on a "nice to have" basis.

So if somebody asks for pictures and snoops around and then decides he doesn't really want the lens, I consider that pretty normal.

Re: Silver 75mm 1.8

Thank you John. I've given up here and put it on Evilbay. I have a 40-150 Pro with a 1.4 TC as well that I'm also going to put on the horrible place.

That's a shame....brace yourself for the 13% fees for PayPal/e-Bay.
