has anyone used clone rm1 for e-3

There seems to be a couple of clone rm1 that one can buy (jcc and jiansi (sp)). Has anyone tried one of these with the E-3 and if so do they work as advertise?

I thought about a clone cable release but a couple of folks have claimed they damage the plugs on the e-3 but I would think the remote control would be safe enough ...

Re: has anyone used clone rm1 for e-3

Yes, I did. Well, not a cloned one, but one I developed myself, 100% on my own just after I bought my E-500. Here is a link if you want to make your own.

It is based on a Microchip PIC. The link includes source code and drawing, if you are a DIY person you can make your own. It worked well with my E-500 and will continue to use with the E-3, not as frequently as before, since now I soon will have a wire remote, which was not possible with the E-500.
